Wedding Cupcakes
A return client of ours from Charlotte, Dinah, asked if we could create giant cupcakes for her wedding. With one small challenge though. It was an outdoor celebration in the summer and the cupcakes needed to hold up to some of the heat as well as “No paper liners around the outside”. Don’t let the “Cup” term throw you off as it did me. These 54 giant cupcakes were actually 54 “miniature wedding cakes”. These babies were huge and took a whole lot longer than expected, to create. The roundness of the tops of these are NOT CAKE but a mound of icing covered in a circle of embossed fondant. The center of the blue flowers are actually peppermints. Once again we would like to thank Dinah for returning to Kenfections for her custom cake creation. Wouldn’t you know it, it turned out to be exactly 100 degrees!
Purple Birthday Cake

Purple Birthday Cake
This custom cake is made of vanilla cake, almond flavored butter cream icing underneath a layer of fondant and topped with gum paste flowers. Pretty happy with the way the purple fondant finished up. Cake serves 9-12 people.
Blue Flower Birthday Cake

Fantasy blue flower cake
Serving as my class final project, this custom 3 tiered Mocha cake was iced with our butter cream icing with Almond accents and finished with fondant as well as gum paste decor. The “Fantasy Flower” was a little bigger than originally planned. The custom cake was presented to my team here at Lowe’s and they polished it off in a all of 5 minutes. Cake serves 17-20 people.

Not one of our most aesthetically pleasing creations, this was the first fondant cake I did as a project for my cake class. It will always serve as the reminder of where we came from and how things began for Kenfections.
