Golf Ball Cake

Weighing in at a healthy 19 pounds, this Golf Ball Cake was designed and completed for a new client (Mr. & Misses H.) here in Charlotte, NC area.  This cake was actually 28 inches long, one foot high and  rolling through the cake is part Almond & part Vanilla layered in think levels of our proprietary butter cream icing.  The fondant I used on this cake is marshmallow based so it tastes extraordinary.  Mark & Lisa, again thank you so much and let us know if we can help you out in the future with a custom creation of our own.

NBC Charlotte Today Video

Serving as one of the larger milestones for us, we were asked to develop this almond birthday cake for Colleen Odegaard, the host of Charlotte Today which can be seen at 11:00AM weekday mornings on NBC.  We are honored to be one of three bakeries that were selected to come onto the program in celebration of Colleen’s birthday.  After  a little insight from the show’s  producer on what Colleen like to do in life,  I did a little deeper investigation of Colleen’s interests, passions and hobbies and this is where the design was inspired.

The story behind the cake has to do with Colleen’s favorite place to shop, her passion for running and finalized with a little known fact that she’s been known to partake in the skills of battling her sons with  Star Wars light sabers. The cake was supposed to be large enough to serve 25 people as well as be totally unique.  I think we achieved that with our design.  The cake at the base represents a box from Colleen’s favorite store, the Jewel Box, located in South Charlotte.  The second layer is modeled to reflect  Colleen’s passion for bicycling & our continued support for the Lance Armstrong Foundation.  The third element is a Star Wars light saber penetrating all of the way through the center of both cakes.  That’s not all. There is a live smoke effect at the top of the cake and disperses in a way that makes the light saber appear to be cutting through the center of the cake because every son dreams of trying that in one way or another.

My Little Pony Cake that serves up to 18 guests A repeat client of ours, Deborah called with a specific request for a My Little Pony themed creation for her daughter.  This marble cake features our signature icing and sealed with fondant. We blended the fondant to make the leopard print on the top tier and the bottom tier we embedded her daughter’s name right into the fondant.  This is an example of our smallest cake which serves up to 18 guests. Again, Thanks Deborah for entrusting us yet again to make your daughters birthday a fun event.

Kenfections Christening Cake

A brand new Charlotte client contacted us to see if we could create a unique christening celebration cake for her daughter, in under two weeks. The base is our second to none Lemon flavored cake with real lemon filling between the layers.  The top tier is vanilla with a heaping helping of butter cream Almond icing between the layers.  The entire cake was then covered in fondant and decorated with gum paste roses and accents. This unique creation is as flavorful as it is eye appealing.  We’d love to create a custom design for you too.  Just drop us an email.

Bike birthday cake

This kids birthday cake is half chocolate and half vanilla topped with our signature butter cream icing.  The intent was to follow the color scheme of the party invitations that went out to over 30 guests. The bike on the top of the cake is a flip trick brand toy so it’s obviously not edible.  Everything else is though.  This first time client of ours comes from Rock Hill South Carolina.  Speaking of rocks, the rocks on the cake are actually chocolates and not gravel in case you were wondering.  We’d love to do a cake for you so keep us in mind when you need your next cake.  We encourage you to follow us on Facebook  because it’s the only place where we release our limited time money saving offers.
