Our baking facility is located in Concord NC just outside of Charlotte. Our bakery is not however open to the public. Our current Charlotte address on East Blvd is our billing address since that’s near our accountant who pays the bills so if you were planning on breaking in to get some cake or icing, the people at the post office won’t be too happy.
Our creations are designed to amaze you & your guests, period. From design stage, all the way through delivery, our Charlotte bakery makes your custom cake from scratch. We never buy pre-made frozen cakes or icings. Our butter cream icing is made on location from real sugars, cream and flavor extracts and mixed to our exact specifications. Our bakery produces some of the most uniquely flavorful and artistic combination’s that no grocery or warehouse club can match. In the spirit of full disclosure, our prices DO reflect this. Many people ask if they can stop by and pick a ready made cake up on their way home from work. Well, frankly, no. Everything we create is by appointment only and we are usually booked out at least 3 weeks in most cases..
Who we cater to are clients that need a custom cake for an upcoming birthday, graduation reception or event for at least 20 guests. Our repeat clients say the reason they come back to us is because we hand craft the freshest cake available that simply “knocks their socks off”. (not our words, it’s theirs)
Every so often we get a daring few clients looking for a naughty themed cake. Well we certainly do make them. I just try to be quiet with this sometimes sensitive topic. Whether you have a bachelorette party or just need one for a spouses birthday, drop us a line. You might be surprised at what we can build.
The second most often asked question I get after “Can you make a _____ themed cake?” is “How much will it cost?“ The cost of the materials is typically not a factor in deciding how much a cake costs. What you are actually paying for is the talent of our designers who prepare and create a work of art. In the end, you should have a one of a kind unique creation that exceeds your expectations. My mentor, Charm City Cakes (Ace of Cakes) in Baltimore Maryland won’t consider doing any cake for under $1000 in case you were wondering. Don’t believe me? Check them out. With that said, Kenfections hasn’t got the call from Food Network or Oprah for a show, yet. So until then, our prices remain much more down to earth and what you would expect from a professional but NOT a grocery store or warehouse club.
You will expect a fully custom original creation that typically involves airbrushing, sculpturing & sugar paper to cost in the range of $4.25 to $5.75 per serving ($85 minimum order). Depending on how much detail is required and how many tiers (high) the cake needs to be. Cakes such as the two we did for NASCAR’s Jimmie Johnson were $1200.
A production style themed iced cake such as our Spongebob or Lightning McQueen falls in the $3 to $4 per serving range. ($85 minimum order) We’d be glad to pass you our price list, just fill out the form below and one of us will shoot it right over to you in an email.
You bet we do. However, we are very selective on which ones we take on because they’re an extraordinary production commitment and can sometimes eat into our time of making unique specialized creations for our regular clients.

Don’t take this the wrong way, their decorators do a knockout job with the templates that they must follow and turnaround time is usually pretty quick, but again it comes down to Quality and the old adage, “You get what you pay for”. I would LOVE to hire some of the talents of a few of these professionals but many of them like the fast paced environments of a grocery store bakery and that’s okay.
Since each cake is a custom piece created specifically for the client, we typically need 2-3 weeks notice. We are typically booked up for fully customized cakes 3 weeks in advance. Wedding cakes require a longer lead time.

Yes, we deliver any order that exceeds $175 FREE of charge within 20 miles of Concord. Beyond 20 miles, let’s talk. Orders under $175 and within 20 miles of Concord, it’s $25 to deliver.

Absolutely, we allow our clients to choose multiple flavors within their cake at no added cost. For example, if you have a 3 tier cake, you can have 1 tier vanilla, 1 tier chocolate & 1 tier strawberry.
Fresh, period. That’s part of why we are called “Gourmet”. We only offer fresh cakes, and get rave reviews from our clients who typically call on us for their next event, because of the combination of creativity & taste!
